One Little Word 2011

Have you heard about "One Little Word"?

If not, you can read about it in this post by Ali Edwards.

For my 2011 one little word, I chose the word JOURNEY.  I have spent a lot of time thinking about what I want my life journey to look like. I want to be purposeful and on the right track. I've likely already lived the first half or more of my journey, so what will the second half of my journey look like?

I believe that this year will bring a new journey for me to experience--my oldest child is graduating from high school this year, and I will finish homeschooling my youngest two children in May. August is going to bring a new "journey" as I will have no kids home during the day for the first time in 18+ years. I'm not sure what I will do when everyone leaves the house at 8:00 am. I am determined to embrace this new adventure, but first I have to get through the rest of this school year!

So in celebration of all of life's journeys, and the new one for this year-- my word is JOURNEY. I am excited to see what God has in store for my family and me for this year.

If you choose one little word, please leave me a comment. I'd love to hear about it!

  1. I love this! I think my word would be enjoy. Right now I am trudging through the day, grouchy by 3:00, grouchier by 4:00 and grouchiest at 5:00. I would like to strive for finding the enjoyment of life, even the difficult, cook supper, let the dogs out, hold the baby as she cries, I'm hungry!, I need you, part of the day. I beat myself up because I don't enjoy my life a little more and I think this would be a good mantra for 2011 in the Neal house!!

  2. {I couldn't comment on the photo organization post.} I sort mine by year, by month, and sometimes by activity. If it's just random, I have it just in the main month folder. EVen though it seems organized to me, sometimes it feels chaotic. Also, where do you store your altered photos? In the same file with the original photo? Sometimes, I have 3 different versions of the same photo. Looking forward to seeing what you do to keep organized!

  3. Hi Angie, I too an doing Ali E's one word class. Journey is also my word. Whilst I haven't blogged about it yet, I will be in the next week. I chose journey because this year I have so many things that I want to achieve in all aspects of my life, from health and wellbeing to friendships, creativity, relationships as well as a self employment venture that I am wanting to start up. So this year it will be about the journey I take to get there.
