June in Review

I can't believe June is almost over...and I have only posted twice this month.

It seems like its always busy at our house. Here's a recap of June:

--Byron and I celebrated our 26th anniversary on June 8th. We went to Pella for a quick get-a-way. It's odd to leave kids at home with no need for a sitter.
--Byron had an 7-day trip to South America. It was a really long week. Glad to have him home!
--Brandon has a full-time job on a construction crew working in Des Moines. I don't see him much, because he leaves the house by 6:15am and is an umpire for softball or baseball games a few evenings a week.
--Ellyn is working part-time in an office here in town. She is learning the value of a dollar and how to juggle her work time/free time. She has been running a lot, to be ready for a 5K this Saturday.
--The first week of June, Ryan and Meg went to Student Life Camp at Lake of the Ozarks with our church's junior high ministry. They had a really great time.
--Halena just got her drivers license yesterday, after much practice behind the wheel. She is registered for a 6-week class to become a nurses aide which begins next week. We are hoping she can drive herself to and from the class.
--Aiden (Halena's baby) got tubes in his ears this month. He will be a much happier guy and will be able to hear much better!
--Ryan got braces this week. His mouth hurts and he can't eat very well. That's been a bit of a problem, since he is used to eating all the time.
--Meg spent all last week in Missouri with the relatives. Her birthday was Saturday and she turned 12. Her aunt took her to Oceans of Fun on Wednesday--what a great birthday treat!
--Byron has spent a lot of time getting his pilot's license up to date. He was able to fly to Missouri and pick up Meggan on her birthday. They got back just in time for a birthday supper at Hickory Park.
